Add an ad when you want a fresh creative within an existing ad set. Add an ad set when the new work needs its own audience, placements or other set-level setup. Advellar supports both workflows for eligible existing campaigns. New ads are created paused; new ad sets follow a separate review flow, with their budget effect determined by the campaign's budget level.
What to take away
- Select the exact campaign and ad set before preparing new creative.
- Adding creative and adding a funded ad set have different budget consequences.
- Record the new items and start time so the next report can explain the change.
1. Choose the smallest addition that fits the work
A new image, video, headline or message normally belongs in a new ad when the intended audience, placements and optimization setup remain appropriate. For example, a second product explanation can sit alongside the existing creative in the same ad set. A new set becomes useful when you need a separately configured delivery approach, not merely another creative name.
For a licensed casino campaign, keep the new offer and destination within the permitted market and Meta gambling authorization. Then write one sentence explaining the addition: test a clearer product demonstration, introduce a different eligible audience approach or replace an expired proposition. That sentence becomes the basis for evaluating the change.
| What you need | Choose | What to review first |
|---|---|---|
| Fresh creative for the same setup | Add ad | Exact parent ad set and final destination |
| A separate delivery configuration | Add ad set | Audience, placements, schedule and budget |
| A different overall campaign goal | Plan a separate campaign | Objective, measurement and campaign structure |
2. Prepare a creative batch with a clear question
Give each new ad a concept and version, such as Product-tour-video-v2. Prepare the media, primary text, headline and destination together. Check that the proposition is current and the files belong to the intended brand and campaign account.
Keep the first batch focused. If you introduce a new message, a new destination and a different audience simultaneously, a changed result will be difficult to explain. Review the mobile destination and the creative crops before submission. Ensure a video communicates its main idea without relying on text that disappears behind the placement's interface.
3. Add new ads to the selected ad set in Advellar
This workflow keeps the selected ad set's audience, placements and budget settings, and does not edit the existing ads. Creation is not confirmation of delivery: the campaign and ad set must also be enabled, and Meta approval is required. If the result cannot be confirmed, use Check the same request or contact support before creating another copy.
- Open Campaigns and locate the intended existing campaign. Expand its ad sets, then select Add ad on the exact set that should contain the new creative.
- Confirm the displayed campaign, ad set and ad account. Complete the creative fields, including the selected Page, media, text, headline and destination where required.
- Add the creatives you want to prepare in this request. Select Review new ads and inspect every item before choosing Create ads.
- Confirm that the new ads were created paused. Enable them when ready, then follow their delivery status in the campaign.
4. Add an ad set when the delivery setup needs to differ
Use Add ad set on the campaign card. Prepare the new set's configuration and creative, then read the budget notice before sending it for review. The workflow applies to approved existing campaigns, including eligible paused campaigns. It does not turn an unfinished campaign draft into a live campaign.
With a campaign-level budget, the additional set shares the existing amount. With ad set budgets, the amount entered for the new set adds to the planned total. For example, two daily set budgets of $100 each plus a new $50 set produce a $250 planned daily total. These are illustrative settings, not a promise of exact daily spend.
The new ad set goes through Advellar's review flow. Existing active work can continue while that addition is reviewed. If the parent campaign is paused, approving the new set does not resume it; delivery also depends on you resuming the campaign and the applicable Meta statuses. Keep platform review and actual delivery as separate observations.
5. Check the new items before interpreting performance
After activation, confirm that the intended new ads are present under the correct set. Check their status and destination before looking for conversions. No spend can reflect a paused parent, a future schedule, review or another delivery constraint. It is not evidence that the creative failed. Investigate the displayed state before duplicating the work.
Keep the reporting start aligned with actual delivery. An ad created yesterday but enabled this afternoon has not received a full day of exposure. Record its activation time, the campaign account's reporting clock and any later change. Use comparable conversion windows when placing its results beside older ads that have had more time to accumulate outcomes.
6. Evaluate the addition without losing the campaign context
Compare the new creative's delivered spend, visits and completed outcomes with the question in your brief. Also inspect the campaign total: a useful new ad may change how existing spend is distributed. Low delivery leaves the new concept unresolved; it does not establish that every other creative is superior.
Meta's guidance explains that edits can affect learning and delivery. Avoid promising that an addition will preserve every performance pattern. Schedule a considered review after meaningful exposure, allow the relevant conversions to mature, and document whether you will continue, revise or stop the new item. Keep the next creative brief tied to that evidence.
Quick questions
Can I add ads without rebuilding the campaign?
Yes. In Advellar, expand the existing campaign's intended ad set and choose Add ad. You can create several new creatives in one request. They start paused and use that ad set's existing delivery settings.
Will creating a new ad increase my budget?
Adding an ad through this workflow does not change the parent budget setting. Adding an ad set is different: with ad set budgets, its amount adds to the planned total; with a campaign budget, it shares the existing pool.
Why is my new ad paused?
Advellar creates new ads paused so you can enable them when ready. Confirm Meta approval and that the campaign and ad set are enabled as well. A created ad and a delivering ad are different states.
